How to Create a Free SAP BTP Trial Account and Integrate It with Eclipse IDE

  1. Create an account on SAP.com. If you already have S-user id or sap account, you can re-use that.

2. Create BTP trial account

Go to SAP BTP cockpit  

Instances and Subscriptions – trial < 5c30eb07trial < Trial Home – SAP BTP Cockpit

Login with your account

Choose US East(VA)-AWS region

Go to your Trial Account

Go to subaccounts

3. Create new instance and setup ABAP environment in BTP account

Subaccounts >> Instance and Subscriptions >> Create

Setup ABAP environment

Enter your BTP account e-mail id here

Create service key

Enter your e-mail id with which you created BTP account

4. Download/Install and setup eclipse

SAP Development Tools

Launch eclipse from downloaded folder

Install ADT plug in

  1. In Eclipse, choose in the menu bar Help > Install New Software…
  2. Enter the URL https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/latest
  3. Press Enter to display the available features.
  4. Select ABAP Development Tools and choose Next.
  5. On the next wizard page, you get an overview of the features to be installed. Choose Next.
  6. Confirm the license agreements and choose Finish to start the installation.

Connect eclipse with ABAP on Cloud

File >> New >> ABAP Cloud Project

Go to your BTP account and click on view Service key

Copy url from your service key and paste in ABAP Service Instance URL in eclipse

Login with your BTP account in browser

Click Finish

Your ABAP environment on cloud will be connected.
